Don't miss the third single from @daheekim.pianist's upcoming release of Nicholas Scott-Burt's 24 Preludes for Piano! #Nowplaying in @Spotify & @Deezer's New Classical Playlists, and featured on #AppleMusicClassical! Today's new release of two piano quintets by composer Jim Aitchison is a special start to a series of recordings in 2026, spearheaded by violinist Peter Sheppard Skærved, shining a spotlight on new works inspired by various forms of art. We were saddened to hear the news yesterday of the passing of composer Robin Stevens. Divine Art Records was honoured to release five albums devoted to his chamber music compositions beginning in 2020. A conversation about the origins of The Girl from the French Fort with composer Nicholas Michael Smith and acclaimed author Hong Ying! With her third single now available worldwide, pianist @izzypianonyc takes you through the roots of her album, Cocteau, which began with a new work by composer @rhonapclarke! ❤️❤️❤️ “My lady sweet, arise, arise, arise!” Métier is delighted to present the February 2026 release of “The Girl from the French Fort,” an enchanting narrated orchestral work by Beijing-based composer and conductor Nicholas Michael Smith based on a children’s story by acclaimed Chinese author Hong Ying. Gerry Cornelius conducts the New Music Players, with English narration by Timothy Bentinck, best known for voicing the role of David in BBC Radio 4’s The Archers, and with Mandarin narration by Niki Yan, who has starred in many Chinese and international films and tv dramas. “In Hong Ying’s Sangsang stories, we can see the convergence of past literary trends greatly enhanced by using a child’s voice to weave a tale of fantasy. In Smith’s composition based on Hong Ying’s first Sangsang story, we see themes of loyalty and parental love. The transcultural quality of the story places the plot within the context of an interconnecting world. Its joyful message of forgiveness, reconciliation, and renewal will gladden the heart of any child or adult from any corner of the world.” —M.A. Aldrich Don’t miss @daheekim.pianist’s premiere recording of @nickscottburt’s Prelude No. 9 in E Major #nowplaying in #AppleMusicClassical’s Contemporary Classical playlist!
