Dan is one of the world’s leading exponents of the mountain (formerly Appalachian) dulcimer, as well as a highly accomplished and original guitarist, composer and singer. His repertoire encompasses folk melodies from the British Isles and a growing number of his own material, which is often inspired by nature or minimalist in style.
Using unusual tunings and even his own temperament, Dan’s playing style is highly innovative. His music, which incorporates elements of medieval and jazz genres, is performed with considerable classical skill and subtly enhanced using state-of-the-art delay effects.
