Samuel Bricault

Samuel Bricault began music with the tin whistle, playing traditional dance music from the Ariège region. Since then, he studied classical flute, in particular at the Paris Conservatory – CNSM, with Sophie Cherrier, receiving a diploma with unanimous highest honours in 2015. His classical career leads him to perform chamber music, and play with different orchestras, contemporary music ensembles and as soloist with orchestra at the Philharmonie of Paris, the Teatro Mayor in Bogota, the Philharmonie in Ekaterinbourg (Russia). He studied Indian music, as a disciple of Patrick Moutal, and Rishab Prasanna. He is a member of Runai, a group that plays Irish folk music. He is an active member of the Warning collective, dedicated to free staged improvisation. He is currently studying baroque flute at the Amsterdam Conservatory. His varied activities have led to performances in places such as the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Shanghai Symphony Hall, the Salle Pleyel in Paris and festivals like the BBC Proms, the Folles Journées de Nantes, the Berlioz Festival.

He created the troupe La Pieuvre, which brings together diverse musical performances, dance, theatre and visual arts.
