Having won 1st Prize from the Tournoi International de Musique (Rome, 2004), 2nd Prize at both the Maria Canals International Competition (Barcelona, 2006), and the Olivier Messiaen Competition (Paris, 2007), Marie Vermeulin is without any doubt one of the pianistic discoveries of recent years.
She has performed in major festivals and concert halls in France (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Philharmonie, Opéra de Paris, Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, Centre Pompidou-Metz, Opéra de Limoges, Festival Messiaen au Pays de la Meije, etc.), and internationally (Spain, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, USA, China, Lebanon, South-East Asia…).
She regularly performs with orchestras and has collaborated with numerous renowned conductors such as Darrel Ang, Paul Goodwin, Pavel Berman, Daniel Kawka, and Pierre Boulez.
Her first CD was devoted to Olivier Messiaen (released in 2013 on Paraty) and the second to Claude Debussy (2016, Printemps des Arts de Monte Carlo). The third, featuring Clara and Robert Schumann and will be released in 2019.
In November 2014, her career achievements were rewarded by the Académie des Beaux-Arts, and the Prix d’Interprétation from the Fondation Simon and Cino Del Duca, under the auspices of the Institut de France.
