percussion

Chris is a percussionist, singer, actor and writer, with both maths and music degrees. He defies categorisation. He is an award-winning playwright and has taken his play Get Fit With Bruce Willis to the Edinburgh and Brighton Fringes. Renowned as a percussion soloist, but also a member of chamber groups including internationally renowned percussion iconoclasts ensemblebash, Classic Rhythm, a maverick trio of musical magpies, and a duo with soprano Sara Stowe, exploring music theatre, medieval music and the 20th century avant-garde. He loves cabaret: his duo Casson and The Brannick Academy has wowed audiences in New York and the UK. His compositions have featured on CDs, websites, documentaries and Children’s BBC, and his acting roles have covered moles, journalists, Bruce Willis impersonators and flying mathematicians. His book World Beats is published by A&C Black and he has two plays published by Lazy Bee. He also examines for the ABRSM.
