William Mason Recordings

William Mason is an organist and composer and is currently Assistant Director of Music at King’s College School, Cambridge.

He received his earliest musical training as Head Chorister at Gloucester Cathedral, later holding organ scholarships at Cheltenham College, Sherborne Abbey & School, and Royal Holloway, University of London. As an undergraduate, William played the organ live on BBC Radio 3, recorded for Hyperion Records, and toured the USA, France, and the Baltic States. During his postgraduate studies in choral conducting at Cambridge University, William received guidance from Christopher Robinson and regularly directed the Choir of Downing College.

As an organ recitalist, William has performed at numerous venues including Southwark Cathedral, Westminster Cathedral, St Paul’s Cathedral, St John’s College Cambridge, and Magdalen College Oxford.

He is a published composer, and his choral music has been performed by several choirs including Buckfast Abbey, the Chapel Royal, Tower of London, and Downing College, Cambridge. He was recently commissioned by Holy Sepulchre Church, London (National Musicians’ Church) to write a piece for a St Cecilia Service to be directed by David Hill in November 2025.
