Natalie Anston

soprano

Natalie Anston is an American Lyrique Soprano. She was born in Tampa, Florida and started singing opera at age 8 with her elementary school teacher, Anita Vani. She then went on to win vocal  competitions such as The National Association of Teachers of Singing Regional Award. She studied voice with Jennifer Cawely until she was given a scholarship to study Voice at The Frost School of Music at University of Miami. After graduating with a BA in Music and minor in Theatre, she moved to New York City. She continued studying opera with Stephen Smith until she met her now husband, Bertrand Vermorel, who convinced her to move to Geneva. She immediately auditioned for Le Conservatoire de Musique and was accepted. While studying, she taught opera to children and adults at Piccolo Opera and performed with their Opera Troupe under the direction of Sophie Ellen Frank
and Paul Hess. After studying at the Conservatoire for 2 years with Jeanne Roth and Andreas Ortwein, she decided to leave and started training with Soprano, Marina Lodygensky. She participated as a
soloist in some projects such as the Summer Music Festival in Sameöns with the Opera Studio of Geneva. In addition to performing, she is also a vocal coach at Simply Theatre Academy for Musical Theatre in Versoix. Piano Con Voce is a project she is very happy to be a part of along with pianist, Inga Feter. When she met Inga, she found she was able to share her love of classical music in the way she most enjoys performing – private concerts and special events.
