JUDY MARTIN, director of Voces Sacrae, was Organ Scholar at Selwyn College, Cambridge, from 1986 to 1989 where she studied conducting under Dr. Andrew Jones. On graduating, she moved to Oxford where she worked as organist and conductor with posts at Queens’ and Exeter Colleges, and as conductor of the Arcadian Singers. In 1991 she spent six months in Sydney, working in the Music Department at Christchurch St. Laurence. In 1995 she was appointed Head of Music at The Abbey School in Reading, but in 1998 left that post to pursue a career here career elsewhere. She was instrumental in the establishment of a new choir at St Mary Magdalene, Oxford. Further afield, Judy is actively involved with Royal School of Church Music choirs and courses, She is Assistant Director of the Southern Cathedral Singers and in 2001 became Director of Chapel Music at Worcester College, Oxford, where she has established a new girl’s choir.
