Adam Davies

Adam was born in Ashton-under-Lyne in 1993 and raised in the market town of Beverley, East Yorkshire, where he benefited from a rich musical environment. He began studying piano at an early age under the guidance of his mother and later continued his studies with Irina Glushenkova.

He went on to study for six years at the Royal Northern College of Music, earning a B.Mus. (Hons.), M.Mus., P.G.Dip., and LRSM. His principal teachers were John Gough and subsequently Dr. Murray McLachlan. During his time at the RNCM, he received numerous prizes and scholarships and was the overall winner of the EPTA UK Piano Competition.

Today, Adam enjoys a varied career as a soloist, concerto performer, teacher, examiner, and conductor. He performs extensively throughout the United Kingdom and teaches primarily at Chetham’s School of Music. His solo repertoire spans music from the Renaissance to the present day, while his concerto repertoire includes major works such as Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 4.

A committed advocate for contemporary music, Adam commissioned and gave the world premiere of Tom Harrold’s Cruxin 2019. He has also appeared as a duo partner with the distinguished pianist Kathryn Stott.
